Work to begin on Pitt & Venning Street Utility Replacement Project
December 31, 2019
December 30, 2019 – Construction for the Pitt & Venning Street Utility Replacement Project will start on Monday, January 6, 2020. The project was commissioned by Mount Pleasant Waterworks and the Town of Mount Pleasant to replace the water, wastewater, and storm drain infrastructure along Pitt Street (between Morrison and Venning Street) and Venning Street (between Royal Avenue and Bennett Street).
Construction will be completed in phases over approximately one year to minimize impact to area businesses. Businesses will remain open during each phase although portions of the existing on-street parking will not be available during construction.
Drivers and pedestrians traveling in the project area are asked to be aware of equipment and crews, and to comply with traffic detours, control signs, reductions in speed limits, and message board information. The construction will take place during the day, as weather permits.
