Temporary Traffic Pattern Changes During Pitt & Venning Utility Replacement Project

March 15, 2021 - Mount Pleasant Waterworks announces the following traffic pattern change schedule on Pitt Street from Venning to Morrison as part of its utility replacement project in the area. The changes are necessary to complete phased road paving. Weather permitting, each phase is scheduled for two weeks.
Phase 1 – Monday, March 15 start PITT STREET CLOSED FROM MORRISON TO HARDWARE ALLEY – The work includes pavement removal, grading, compaction, and placement of new asphalt. Parking and through-traffic will be closed for the duration of Phase 1 work.
Phase 2 – Monday, April 5 start PITT STREET CLOSED FROM HARDWARE ALLEY AND THE VENNING INTERSECTION – The work includes underground communication conduit installation, pavement removal, grading, compaction, and placement of new asphalt. Temporary striping will be placed during a 30-day curing period of the asphalt before placing permanent striping.
Drivers travelling in the area during this time are asked to be aware of equipment and crews, and to comply with traffic control signs. Please see PDF link for details.
